is a non-profit 501-c-3 corporation that has been serving Seattle since 1987.
Mission Statement
Anacrusis Modern Tap Dance's mission is to promote the understanding, preservation and development of tap dance as an art form. Through performances, workshops and special events AMTD educates dance professionals and the public about the art form of tap dance, helping tap dance take its respected place in the larger world of dance. By supporting historical tap dance research and presentation, AMTD assists in preserving an American art form once in danger of being lost. AMTD fosters and cultivates new generations of tap dance enthusiasts, mentoring and sponsoring young students. The AMTD scholarship fund was created to assist deserving youth in their pursuit of futher education in the art of tap dance.
AMTD is administered by members of an all volunteer Board of Directors. Public support in the form of individual donations and corporate matching funds are vital to the artistic development of productions and dancers.
